WBBA Competitions.

The inaugural World Bar Billiards Alliance event took place on the weekend of the 4th and 5th of February 2023 at the Aviator Hotel, Northampton. The event split players into 4 categories :- Platinum, Gold, Silver and Bronze according to the players standards. Each player was able to enter 2 categories and the format was decided by the number of entries. Trophies and prize monies were up for grabs and the event was a success and further events are being planned (see below for next dates). It was good to see players of all standards being given a chance to win an event and great to see names on the trophies that we would not normally see. The idea of grading players so as to encourage more people to participate is certainly and great one and maybe a way to help our wonderful game to progress going forward. A huge thank you to Lorin Clough for coming up with the idea and getting the events off the ground.

The Platinum event was won by Curt Driver who beat Matt Jones. The Gold event saw a reversal with Matt Jones beating Curt Driver in the final. There was a Plate competition in the Gold event and this was won by Kevin Tunstall (The Henty) who beat Dave Ingram (Stags Head A) in the final.

The Silver event was won by Kyle Ingram who beat Aiden Cole in the final. The Silver Plate was won by Joe Foxon who beat Keith Thomson in the final.

The Bronze event was won by Keith Thomson who beat Abbey Balchin in the final.

The next event has been booked in for the weekend 27th and 28th May 2023 at the Aviator Hotel, Northampton.
